{family beach trip}

In July, my mom's entire side of the family rented a beach house on Pawley's Island for a week.  It was great to catch up with everyone and get a family portrait.  I'm pretty sure the last family portrait was about 10 years ago.  It's always nice to update the frames with more recent photos :) The first shot is the WHOLE family - followed by pictures of the Elmores, Olliffs, and Claytons.

{AvaGrace}

Ava Grace is the sweetest, toughest baby girl I have ever met!  She's endured a LOT in her first 4 months of life - more than I've gone through in my 26 years, but she's precious & perfect in every way!  I have to tell you the funniest part about her birth.  Her sweet mama, Michelle, teaches 3rd grade at my school.  One Friday in April, Michelle & the other 3rd grade teacher, Melissa took both classes on a field trip to one of Savannah's public libraries.  Just as they were getting ready to load up and head back to school for lunch, Ava Grace decided it was time to make her entrance!  Michelle's water broke (about 5 weeks early) at the library!  Clearly, Ava Grace gets some of her strength from her mom because Michelle just got in her car and DROVE HERSELF to the hospital.  Talk about a field trip to remember!

It's tough being this cute all the time!

{tread}

While I was home in July, I did a mini-session for my cousin, Hillary and her little boy, Tread.  He did very well with the camera, but if he caught me hanging back trying to get a shot, he would insist that I join him on his walk.  I also really got to practice my editing skills - Tread fell by the pool the day before our shoot and had a pretty bad scab on his nose.  Before & after is below.

{Future Mr&Mrs Wright}

Mary & Jody are getting married!!!  Only about 3 months until the BIG day I could not be more excited for these two!  I'm also happy that they bought a house in my neighborhood.  I've known Mary for about 5 years now.  We went through the education program at Georgia Southern and I have to give a good amount of credit to her for my current job at St. James that I am so blessed to have.  We had a blast doing their engagement pictures.  My most awesome assistant ever, Lila, came along to help me and she only almost hit one biker.  We started at Mary & Jody's new house, then headed downtown to The Bohemian for the rooftop shots, followed by Wright Square, and the Cathedral where they will tie the knot in October.  We ended the evening at Bethesda and Jody's dock (where they got engaged).  Congratulations & best wishes to these two!

Laura & Drew tied the knot!  They invited me to take pictures of their reception at a beautiful house in The Landings.  Laura looked stunning and so in love!

{Gehas/Albertsons}

Lately, I've had the opportunity to take pictures for many members of my St. James family.  At the beginning of June, I met up with Hilary and her family.  Her daughter, Maddie, was in my homeroom this past year and I am surely going to miss her next year.  I'm very excited for to be entering this next chapter in her life though - highschool!  Hilary's mom and brothers, along with their families, came to Tybee from all over to spend a week together!  I love this shot below of Hilary's brother and his family.  Silly dads always make a photoshoot more fun!
